🧀Ultimate Foodie Adventure in France!🥐

Bonjour from Lyon, France! I am currently on the ultimate foodie adventure and getting so much inspiration for future recipes on Heal Nourish Grow. I'm always blown away at the quality of food in Europe compared to the US...this trip is no exception. If you'd ever be interested in a guided foodie tour let me know by responding to this email and maybe we can make it happen!

I went to the Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse this morning and it was a revelation! The market was unbelievable and so many restaurants there as well. That place alone makes me want to come back here for a week to rent a VRBO where I can enjoy cooking all the wonderful items you can get there. Short video on that coming soon...so much beautiful food already prepared and fresh ingredients.

What to Eat on Vacation When Following a Healthy Diet

I have been eating all the fromage (cheese), drinking all the wine and had the best pan au chocolat I've ever had in my entire life this trip (basically a croissant with a bit of chocolate)...stay tuned to hear about any weight gain or lack thereof. I never feel deprived on vacation. I still eat basically what I do at home, meat and vegetables, but they're prepared in different ways, with different spices and sauces.

As for the bread in France...it's the best in the world! But I've mostly stayed away...HOWEVER. Since I'm not diabetic and am metabolically healthy (thanks to keto) I can deviate on occasion. When it's worth it, it's worth it! I've had a bite of bread here and there since we've been in France some were definitely NOT worth it.

Plenty of restaurants here though are the same as in the US with the ubiquitous basket of crappy bread. My motto is life is too short for crappy bread! But, when it's GOOD and I mean really good, have a piece and enjoy it if your health status allows! Just don't bother with the crappy bread for no good reason. And that's my .02 on how to deal with vacation food.
